Registration (online and in person) :

 

Residents : starting Tuesday, September 4 at 7 p.m.

 

Non-residents : starting Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m.

 

 

Non-residents wishing to register for children's or teens' activities must have a family membership at the Library and register in person.

 

 

 

ONLINE REGISTRATION

 

Participants must have a MULTI card number and make sure, before registration, that their phone number matches the phone number in our files. To register, go to ludik.pointe-claire.ca.

 

Internet registration assistance will be available on September 4 and 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., at 514-630-1225. Internet stations will be available at the Library for you to register online.

 

To find out how to get a MULTI card number, please call 514-630-1218, ext. 1637. If you don’t have a MULTI card number, you must register in person.

 

 

 

COSTS AND REFUNDS

 

Activities are free for Library members. Library membership is free for young people residing or attending a high school in Pointe-Claire.

 

If you have registered for an activity and cannot attend it, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance at 514-630-1218, extension 1623; otherwise, a fee will be applied.

Teens earn volunteer hours by helping with a variety of children’s activities.

BOOK REVIEWS

 

Teens write a short book review online and earn 15 minutes of volunteering! Reviews will be published on the Teen Zone blog.

TEEN COUNCIL

 

Teens earn volunteer hours and gain experience by helping to choose books, prepare themed book displays, and plan activities for teens.

Teens earn volunteer hours by using their crafting and artistic skills to create themed decorations for the teen and children’s sections.

ASSISTING WITH THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE

 

Preparing for the Friends of the Library book sale is a great way for teens to earn volunteer hours and gain experience.

READING BUDDIES : BIG BUDDIES

 

Teens share their love for reading with a Little Buddy (7 to 10 years old) one hour a week. Applicants must be willing to commit for the year in order to join this program.

 

Applications accepted: Tuesday, September 4 to Thursday, September 27.

Thursday, October 18, 2018 to Friday, April 5, 2019.

READING BUDDIES : MEET THE BUDDY NIGHT

 

Big Buddies receive training and hear stories from other teens who have participated in the program. The Sorting Hat then assigns Little Buddies, and a reading schedule is set up with the child’s parents.

 

Teens must be registered as a Big Buddy to attend.

A local award-winning YA author guides teens through the process of writing a short personal memoir. Each week a different element of writing will be discussed and time will be allotted for writing. A memoir is a great place for young writers to begin developing their own voices, improve their writing, and explore who they are.
